    Cardy partners with OEM recycling programs for returning of used consumables and end of life equipment. Our policy is to have all equipment on a managed print program recycled. We partner with the following programs to recycle equipment that has reached it's end of life. Please also use the following as a guide to how to recycle your used toners:

    Cardy remanufactures used Brother toners. Please contact us to arrange collection.

    Other Brands, including generic toners:

    Office Max have a recycling box which has a minimal charge, which includes pick up. Any toners can go into this box. You can order the box here:

    Cardy Ltd - Workplace Sustainability Policy

    Purpose

    At Cardy Ltd, we are committed to fostering a sustainable work environment. This policy outlines our approach to environmental stewardship and social responsibility, aiming to reduce our environmental footprint, enhance the well-being of our employees, and positively impact the communities we serve.

     

    Scope

    This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and partners of Cardy Ltd across all locations. It guides our operations, procurement, and decision-making processes to ensure sustainability is integrated into our everyday activities.

    Objectives

    1. Reduce Environmental Impact
      • Minimize waste generation and promote recycling, reusing, and repurposing materials.
      • Reduce energy consumption through energy-efficient practices, equipment, and behaviors.
    2. Promote Sustainable Practices
      • Encourage the use of strategic transportation while servicing equipment, use of hybrid and electric vehicle where appropriate, offer cycling to work and subsidy of bicycle purchase, and remote working to reduce carbon emissions.
      • Source materials, products, and services that are environmentally friendly and ethically produced.
      • Support the use of renewable energy sources where feasible, and consider environmental impacts when selecting suppliers.
    3. Enhance Employee Awareness & Engagement
      • Provide training and resources to employees on sustainability practices and the importance of environmental stewardship.
      • Foster a culture where all staff are encouraged to share ideas and participate in sustainability initiatives.
      • Engage employees in community sustainability projects and volunteer opportunities.
    4. Continuous Improvement & Compliance
      • Regularly review and improve our sustainability practices and goals.
      • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards.
      • Measure and report on our sustainability performance to ensure transparency and accountability.

     

    Key Commitments

    1. Waste Management
      • Implement recycling programs for paper, cardyboard, plastic, electronic waste, and other recyclable materials.
      • Recycle equipment at the end of life through OEM schemes.
      • Recycle used consumables from customers.
      • Recycle packaging, including cardboard and polystyrene.
      • Reduce waste where possible.
    2. Energy Efficiency
      • Optimize the use of natural light and energy-efficient lighting systems.
      • Promote energy-saving practices like turning off lights and equipment when not in use.
    3. Sustainable Procurement
      • Prioritize suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability and ethical practices.
      • Select products with minimal packaging and that are reusable or recyclable.
      • Evaluate the environmental impact of our supply chain and work towards sustainable improvements.
    4. Travel & Transportation
      • Encourage video conferencing and remote meetings to reduce business travel where meetings don’t need to be face to face.
      • Purchase and run hybrid and electric cars were possible.
      • Encourage technicians to be wise and plan their onsite visits to reduce travel.
      • Explore opportunities for a more sustainable fleet and logistics operations.

     

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Management: Responsible for implementing the sustainability policy, providing necessary resources, and ensuring compliance with environmental laws.
    • Employees: Expected to integrate sustainable practices into their daily activities, participate in training, and contribute to a sustainable workplace.
    • Sustainability Team: Regularly reviews the policy and makes recommendations for improvements. Monitors progress towards sustainability goals and ensures effective communication of initiatives.

    Monitoring & Reporting

    • We will conduct an annual review of our sustainability policy and practices, assessing progress towards our goals.
    • Reports on our sustainability initiatives will be made available to stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
    • Feedback from employees and stakeholders will be incorporated into our sustainability strategy to ensure continuous development.

     

    Review & Amendments

    This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as needed to reflect changes in legislation, technology, or our organizational objectives. Any changes will be communicated to all employees.

    This policy has been approved by CEO Danny Mountain and is effective as of 1/6/2024.
